With almost 2 decades of experience preparing young people to realize their highest potential, Dr. Johnson has dedicated her entire professional career to improving the academic and functional outcomes of people with disabilities. Dr. Johnson's passion for facilitating post-secondary transition is the driving force that energizes her to support young adults and their families in navigating the complexities of life beyond high school and into young adulthood. Dr. Johnson is currently serving as Chair of the Assistive Technology Department for the Atlanta Independent Schools System.

Dr. Johnson's commitment to special education leadership is evident through her research on transition competencies toward improving the quality of life outcomes to participate in post-secondary educational, competitive employment, independent living, and preferred leisure/ social settings as young adults.
